Hendersonville

Known as "The City by the Lake," there are many parks in Hendersonville along Old Hickory Lake. If you are a Frisbee golf and/or a model airplane enthusiast, you will enjoy Sanders Ferry Park. This park features an 18-DISCatcher course, a model plane airstrip, picnic shelters, a boat ramp and fishing pier. Have a picnic at Memorial Park, enjoy the kid’s kingdom playground, or play tennis. Enjoy a walk by the lake and take time to feed the ducks.

Many music legends have called Hendersonville home, including Johnny and June Carter Cash, Conway Twitty, Roy Orbison, the Oak Ridge Boys, and newcomer Taylor Swift. Take a tour of Trinity Music City, USA, originally built by country music legend, Conway Twitty. Free tours are available of the Trinity Broadcast Network auditorium, a virtual reality theater, as well as Conway’s original estate and gardens.

Enjoy shopping? Spend a day at Hendersonville's lifestyle center, Streets of Indian Lake. An outdoor shopping center, featuring such stores as Coldwater Creek, J.Jill, Eddie Bauer, and Chico's. Restaurants ranging from casual to upscale dining are scattered throughout the development.

Hendersonville’s Country Hills Golf Course offers a challenging 18-hole layout that provides scenic views of Old Hickory Lake and winds through the hills of Hendersonville.

For our historians, you will enjoy Rock Castle, home of General Daniel Smith, and Monthaven, a beautiful two-story wood frame home used as a hospital during the Civil War. 

Something for the entire family can be found at Strike and Spare Family Fun Center. Strike and Spare is a 24 hour bowling center. The facility includes a state of the art video arcade, indoor ice skating rink, bumper cars, laser tag, a virtual roller coaster, virtual golf, darts and billiards, a 3-D motion theatre, an animated children’s theater, and a toddler soft-play gym.

Plan ahead: Freedom Festival at Drake's Creek Park coincides with Independence Day each year. At the end of September, join Hendersonville in a fun, family event at Festival By the Lake.
